The President and officers of Humboldt International University reserve the right to change any information, regulations, requirements, and fees contained in this publication or any other university document. The University reserves the right to refuse to admit or readmit any student at any time should it be deemed necessary in the interest of the student or the University. The University reserves the right to provide advance notice of any such changes via email or through the official university website.

FAMILY EDUCATIONAL RIGHTS & PRIVACY ACT (FERPA)

In accordance with Public Law 93-380, Section 438 and Florida Statute 229.782, student records are considered confidential. Humboldt International University maintains the privacy and confidentiality of all student education records.

Students have the right to inspect and review their education records maintained by the University. Students may request amendments to records they believe are inaccurate, misleading, or otherwise in violation of their privacy rights.

Students may authorize the release of their education records by completing an all-inclusive release form, which permits the University to share records with designated parties, or by completing an individual release form for specific requests. Without proper authorization, the University will not release personally identifiable information from a student's education records except as permitted by FERPA.

COPYRIGHT

Copyright provides legal protection for original works of authorship, including literary, dramatic, musical, artistic, and certain other creative works. This protection is available to both published and unpublished works.

Humboldt International University maintains a copyright infringement policy in accordance with applicable federal law. The unauthorized distribution of copyrighted material, including unauthorized peer-to-peer file sharing, may subject students to civil and criminal liabilities.

Penalties for copyright infringement include statutory damages of up to $30,000 per work infringed, or up to $150,000 per work for willful infringement, plus attorney's fees and court costs. Criminal penalties may include up to five (5) years of imprisonment and fines of up to $250,000. These penalties are outlined in Title 17, United States Code, Sections 504 and 505.
